Value of Water Campaign

Essential. Reliable. Invaluable. Water – it’s the thread that weaves together our daily lives. It keeps our communities healthy, our cities running, and our economies growing. Water is a cup of coffee, the produce aisle, better production, increased exports, and greater American strength.

Water is essential to everything we do, from the water we need to brush our teeth and make coffee in the morning, to the water farmers need to grow crops, and firefighters need to keep us safe. But the systems that deliver this essential resource are at risk. Water infrastructure is invisible, aging beneath our feet, and in need of massive investments. We have the solutions to solve our biggest water challenges but achieving them is going to require us to all come together and support investment and innovation.

The Value of Water Campaign educates and inspires the nation about how water is essential, invaluable, and in need of investment. Spearheaded by top leaders in the water industry, the Value of Water Campaign is building public and political will for investment in America’s water infrastructure. With robust, best-in-class communications tools, we work with the sector, stakeholders, policy organizations, elected officials, business and labor groups, and more, to spread our message.

In the past two years, the campaign has created a toolkit of high-quality communications assets for organizations to use at no cost, created a communications bootcamp to train communications staff about how to more effectively talk about the value of water, and coordinated and hosted high-impact events to raise the profile of water, including Infrastructure Week, where we infused water issues into the broader infrastructure dialogue during the national advocacy week in May; and Imagine a Day Without Water, our annual day of awareness and action for water infrastructure in the fall.

The campaign is sponsored by public and private water agencies, business and community leaders, and national organizations committed to raising awareness about the importance of water and the often invisible water challenges threatening our country.
