Strategic Communications Institute

One Water Leadership Institute: Strategic Communications

November 10, 12 and 19, 2020
9:30am- 11:30am PT

US Water Alliance members shoulder tremendous responsibility: they advocate for our water, protect public health and the environment, deliver a life-sustaining resource, research and develop cutting-edge innovations, and more. With those kinds of pressures and demands, it is reasonable to expect that most water stakeholders spend all their time doing the work, and very little time focused on how to tell the story of their work. But with challenges facing water providers and water stakeholders from all angles—public health, access, affordability, systemic inequalities and more—it is imperative that US Water Alliance members think critically about the stories they tell about themselves and how to be better strategic communicators.
This Leadership Institute is designed for people in decision-making positions for an organization’s communications. It will offer attendees the opportunity to review best practices for strategic communications for their organizations and to network with peers from across the country.
The objectives for our time together include:
Build deeper understanding of strategic communications and how to advance a One Water message;
Learn best-in-class practices for branding, developing strategic communications plans, persuasive messages and campaigns, and engaging diverse stakeholders through storytelling;
Apply the strategies and skills learned to communications opportunities and challenges at home; and
Engage in high quality peer-exchange and learning with fellow US Water Alliance members from across the country.
One Water Leadership Institutes are free of charge for US Water Alliance Members
