Water Blues ~ Green Solutions
The U.S. Water Alliance will convene an Outreach Partner meeting of communications pros later this month to strategize how to effectively promote and leverage a new documentary by Penn State Public Broadcasting called Water Blues ~ Green Solutions. The nationally distributed public service media project is scheduled for release in the Fall of 2013. It will tell the stories of communities across the nation that are striving to implement green solutions for our water blues. The Water Blues ~ Green Solutions project will deliver a number of education and outreach tools around the subject of “managing water with green infrastructure,” including 1) a public television documentary, 2) a digital library of short educational videos, 3) an online interactive database of green infrastructure projects, and more. Broad distribution and public viewership will be enhanced by the collaboration with an array of interests including: American Society of Civil Engineers, American Society of Landscape Architects, American Rivers, The Conservation Fund, Ecological Society of America, ICMA, Ladybird Johnson Wildflower Center, National Association of Clean Water Agencies, National Wildlife Federation, Society for Ecological Restoration, Stroud Water Research Center, Sustainable Cities Initiative, U.S. Botanic Gardens, U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, and the U.S. Green Building Council.
